Aseltine's Constructivist Academic Program

Approach

Aseltine School is committed to empowering students as learners and active problem-solvers in their lives. The process of learning is emphasized through a constructivist approach to academics, using themes from students’ lives and interests, and intensive problem-solving activities.

Structure

Specific skills instruction and remediation take place in small groups, or on an individualized basis, depending on student need, Students may be grouped in a variety of ways, depending on the content area in question, each student’s need, and his or her level of academic skill, commitment to academics, and degree of social skill development.
