In Aseltine's science classes, students study various categories of science – physics, chemistry, biology, and earth sciences – depending on their grade level. Curricula meet California Department of Education science standards required for public schools. Our science instruction provides a foundation of knowledge and skills that prepares students for possible higher education – an option most considered impossible before Aseltine.
In their science classes, students don’t just read about science; they experience it for themselves. Aseltine teachers connect science to students’ lives and focus on interactive labs and projects to provide students with a solid, comprehensive background in science and increase their interest in and understanding of the subject. In addition to the science curriculum, Aseltine requires all students to participate in monthly problem-solving sessions.
