Children don’t just learn at Aseltine.  They thrive.

Small class sizes – and a high staff-to-student ratio.  Rigorous academics.  Innovative arts education.  Cultural enrichment opportunities.  Fully-equipped computer lab.  Creative problem-solving.  Competitive sports.  Critical thinking.  Community service.  Individualized instruction. Staff who care. It’s no wonder Aseltine students are ready for a dynamic tomorrow.

Since 1968, Aseltine School has welcomed, nurtured and engaged San Diego’s K-12 students struggling with learning disabilities and emotional issues whose needs are not being met in traditional academic settings.  We work with our students as partners in their learning process – students set their own academic and life goals, and we go above and beyond to help them reach them.

Aseltine Eagles Win 2010 Basketball Championship...

The Aseltine Eagles took home the CAPSES League Basketball Championship Trophy for the 2010 season.  The team had a great season and lots of fun improving their basketball skills, making friends, and learning the joys of healthy competition.  Organized sports are an important part of an Aseltine education because they allow Aseltine students to experience the pride of being part of a team and the benefits of teamwork.  Sports teach students to master healthy behaviors and demonstrate discipline in a non-classroom setting while building a sense of community and unity among students.  We can’t wait to see the children in action again this school year – go Eagles!.
